A still life is an exercise in pure design.  The objects and elements chosen for each composition may tell a story, explore a theme or simply appeal to the senses. It is the arrangement of objects that draws the eye. For me, objects are also a great jumping off point for abstract painting and its exploration of shape, texture, line and color.
